We chatted with Rob Hall, founder of legendary Bristol app, Wriggle.

Who are you?

I’m Rob Hall. I’m founder of Wriggle, which is a Bristol-born app based on King Street which helps people to discover the best independent food & drink in Bristol.

Where are your most-visited food places in Bristol?

Playground Coffee, Ceres & Katie & Kim for coffee/brunch, Chilli Daddy, Tuk Tuck for lunches and the Hillgrove, Small Bar or the Greenbank for pubbing.

Ceres brunchWhere in Bristol has the...

Best Burger - Rebel Roll or Burger Theory

Best Sunday Roast - The Bank Tavern

Best Pub/bar - The Hillgrove is an awesome pub – perfect for whiling away lazy afternoons

Best Pizza - Flour & Ash, with a special mention to Renato’s for their late-night pizza

Best for special occasions – Birch

Best Brunch - Ceres in Stokes Croft. Every single dish on the menu is awesome

Best indie producer/shop/market - Sweet Mart in Easton is a foodie paradise

Hidden-Gem - We’ve recently discovered Jeevan Sweets in Easton. Awesome veggie Indian food. Love it!

Any other top foodie tips?

Check out Wriggle; we’ve put 3 years’ worth of foodie-research into pointing people to awesome food & drink

If you were the Mayor of Bristol for a day what would you do?

Ban cars from King Street – and stop student housing taking over the centre of the city.

You’ve got 24 hours in Bristol to show some visitors around. What are you going to do?

Brunch in Stokes Croft (Ceres or Katie & Kim), a walk around Bristol with Sasha, the Wriggle German Shepherd (maybe take in the Harbourside), a few beers outside on King Street – and finish the day in the Canteen for dinner. A board game or two afterwards a Chance & Counters might be fun.
