England v Ireland One Day International Cricket in Bristol - 5th May 2017

Eoin Morgan's men will be looking to avoid a repeat of the 2011 World Cup fixture in Bangalore that saw Ireland chase down 327 in arguably their most famous victory. Kevin O’Brien smashed a 50-ball ton that day and those of an emerald persuasion will be hoping for much of the same in Bristol.

The 14-man squad for the game is:

Eoin Morgan (Middlesex) (Capt.)
Moeen Ali (Worcestershire)
Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire)
Jake Ball (Nottinghamshire)
Sam Billings (Kent)
Ben Duckett (Northamptonshire)
Steven Finn (Middlesex)
Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire)
Liam Plunkett (Yorkshire)
Adil Rashid (Yorkshire)
Joe Root (Yorkshire)
Jason Roy (Surrey)
David Willey (Yorkshire)
Mark Wood (Durham)

England will play two matches at Bristol's Brightside Ground in the summer of 2017. Welcoming Ireland in May and the West Indies in late September, the games will bookend a great season of domestic cricket for Gloucestershire at the same venue.

This will be England's first game of any kind on home soil in 2017. The Brightside Ground has undergone major redevelopment in the past few years and is now an impressive cathedral of cricket - the perfect setting to kick off England's summer and a huge coup for Bristol and the South West.

After a packed summer schedule that includes a tour by South Africa and then the ICC Champions Trophy on home soil, England welcome the West Indies to round off the home season. Thanks to excellent support from the Bristol public, and the facilities now available at the Brightside Ground, the Barmy Army will again return to the city on Sunday 24th September.

Tickets for the England fixtures are now on sale and are available here. Tickets for the Ireland match are priced at £30 or £10 for under 16s. Keep your browser trained on www.gloscricket.co.uk for fixture and ticket announcements.
