Lice Bristol

Public service announcement: there has been an outbreak of LICE.

The local four-piece formed a year ago at the University of Bristol, and have gone on to quickly accrue a sizeable reputation within the city’s music scene. And, with support slots for the likes of IDLES and Spectres, they have begun to reach a wider national audience.

The release of their next single, ‘The Human Parasite’, is the natural next step on their upward trajectory: with frontman Alastair Shuttleworth sounding more vital than previously heard over the top of the sordid march played out by Silas, Gareth and Bruce. Representing a subtle maturing of the swampy post-punk they peddle, the single has raised eyebrows and garnered radio play on both Radio 1 and Beats1. Listen below.

To celebrate its release, LICE are putting on a show at The Louisiana on the 1st May, a venue which they are very familiar with. Support will be provided by fellow Bristol-based upstarts Jesuits and Scalping.

Tickets are £3.50 and available from Dice. For more information on the event, visit its Facebook page.
