365Bristol spoke with Del Hickey of Bristol Bike Events - a one stop shop for info on all the events that would interest bikers in and around Bristol. It's a hub where you can easily see exactly what's going on and when. Perfect.

In years gone by, as now, a small group of local bikers with a passion for riding and custom motorcycles, get together and meet up regularly to chat about bikes, past rallies and events, the latest modifications to their bikes, to plan future ride outs and visits to local shows and to generally put the world to rights.

The problem being, with so many things going on each weekend, we would often hear about an event after it had happened. Frustrating to say the least.

"There being so many sources for the events taking place, mainly hearsay, I decided to try and pull this information together in a single source that the local biking community could easily access and contribute to." Del

The Bristol Bike Events page on Facebook was put together a few years ago and currently has over 1,000 followers and contributors.

A list of the year’s events gets put together and is updated and posted to the Facebook page on a weekly basis. The list is current, with past events removed. Click on the list and a new window opens in Google Drive. From here you can view, download or print. The events are listed by date, with a description and hyperlink to the event details. This allows you directly access the events information, be it a webpage or Facebook event.

Whilst endeavouring to keep the information accurate and up to date, some events do get cancelled for various reasons so it is always advisable to ensure that the event is still taking place before attending.

"Since starting the page, the feedback from event organisers has been very positive and I, for one, am never at a loss where to go on the bike. My only problem is which event to attend." Del
