Set sail aboard The Matthew - A true Bristol icon

Bristol is home to the perfect recreation of John Cabot's ship that sailed to North America in 1497 – The Matthew of Bristol. This year celebrates the 20th anniversary of the modern Matthew's voyage across the Atlantic. There are a variety of trips offered aboard the famous ship around the harbour and along the river. Perfect for so many different occasions.

 

The Matthew run regular tips with various themes. They include voyages along the beautiful Avon Gorge, around the harbour, sea-shanty specials and the ever popular fish and chip or cream tea trips! Exactly 20 years ago on 2 May, the modern Matthew set sail on a historic trip across the Atlantic from Bristol to Newfoundland, Canada. To mark the occasion there will be a celebratory harbour trip on the Matthew for you to imagine, even if just for 1 hour, what it was like to sail across the ocean in this beautiful ship!

 

The Matthew is available for private hire and hosts events of all kinds. From wedding receptions to birthday parties and corporate events, the office staff are experienced party planners so they can help you every step of the way!
