Bristol's favourite open mic night, every Monday at The Nook

Posted on: 01 Apr 2017

Offering a welcoming Bristol crowd and an open-door policy, the open mic night at The Nook is the ideal place to take your first steps into live performance or to rediscover time-honed skills.

Open Mic at The Nook every Monday evening

Open mic nights have a rare potential to offer up moments of real magic, where the audience can find themselves, for a brief second, in the presence of a raw, undiscovered talent shared within the intimate surroundings of a smoky backroom. Or you get an old bloke, several Doom Bars deep trying to play ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ with nothing but an old pair of maracas.

Either way, an open mic tends to make for excellent entertainment, and there is no place better than to catch one than at The Nook, where patrons are urged to take to the stage every Monday night. To encourage the more cautious musicians, a free drink is on offer for every performer.

The Nook is set in a quiet corner away from the hustle and bustle of the main city, yet it’s just a couple minutes walk from the fountains and Hippodrome area. Try this place once and you’ll be back time and again, that’s for sure.
