Snooker legends Steve Davis and Barry Hearne to host charity evening at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol
Posted on: 31 Mar 2017The six-time world champion Steve Davis will be alongside World Snooker chairman Barry Hearne as they host a gala charity dinner at Bristol’s Ashton Gate Stadium on Thursday 1st June 2017 in aid of The Jessie May Trust.
Mark Regan – the England, Bristol and Bath rugby star – will introduce this fantastic evening. Packed full of sporting anecdotes and just how Barry Hearn has built Matchroom Sport into the global success that it is today, guests will be treated to an evening to remember in the great surroundings of the newly refurbished Ashton Gate Stadium.
Barry Hearn, World Snooker Chairman said: “This is going to be a really fun evening and I can promise you a lot of great stories from the many years that Steve and I have spent in snooker and the sporting world. It’s an event not to be missed. We’re delighted to be supporting Jessie May this year and I hope local people will join us by coming along.”
The event is in aid of a charity close to our hearts here at 365Bristol. Jessie May provides a hospice at home service for terminally ill children, offering care to families in Bristol, Bath, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. The charity is currently caring for 127 terminally ill children throughout the area and a further 41 bereaved families. Jessie May Nurses provide respite care, end of life care, emotional support and bereavement support directly into the family home, completely free of charge.
Lindsey Horton, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Jessie May, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Barry and Steve to Bristol for what we know will be a wonderful event. The support from World Snooker this season has been amazing and will allow us to continue our vital work with families in the local area.”
