The festival, set to take over central Bristol across Easter weekend (15th-16th April), will also feature cookery workshops hosted at their Chocolate Theatre and a rum tasting evening at Amoeba in Clifton.

Everyone knows that the best bit about Easter is the chocolate; none more so than Taste Chocolate, the folks who each year stage a festival in central Bristol in appreciation of the brown stuff. Bringing together cocoa-fanatics with the producers of amongst the best chocolate in the country, the mouth-watering fiesta has proved a hit over recent years.

More details of this year’s festival have been announced, with perhaps the most exciting aspect being the reveal of the Easter egg hunt which will wind its way around the Old City on each day. The Taste Chocolate Easter Treasure Hunt will allow its participants to explore Bristol’s rich chocolate history, with the first 35 successful hunters receiving Easter eggs each day.

Meanwhile, over in the Chocolate Theatre, there will be cooking demonstrations from celebrated chocolatiers like Josh Eggleton, Zara’s Chocolates and The Chocolate Bear Company, after Clifton’s Amoeba has hosted a rum tasting evening in cooperation with the Little Cocoa Company on Wednesday 12th.

Also incorporated within the chocolatey celebration is an exciting project called ‘Origin’, an multisensory experience created by Understory, the Bristol-based story-tellers and gastronomy experts. Visitors will be taken on a journey through the past, present and future whilst using the medium of chocolate as a stimulator to heighten the senses and provide awareness of ourselves and the environment.

Advance tickets to the festival cost £4 while places on the rum tasting evening are £20. For more information, head over to the Taste Chocolate website.
