Bristol is packed with vintage stores and they all offer something different. We couldn’t be prouder to draw your attention to some of the very best. There are places all over the city and they are absolute goldmines...!

Situated on North Street in Southville, Rhubarb Jumble has everything from beautiful 50’s party dresses, thought to practical every day jumpers, skirts and tops. I also love the homewares, lots of which is kitchenalia and lighting, all at fantastic prices. www.rhubarbjumble.com

Heartfelt Vintage on Alma Vale Road in Clifton stocks truly ‘vintage’ one off exquisite pieces, from diaphanous 30’s silk dresses to gorgeous 50’s cocktail dresses. As well as their renowned vintage bridal collection, Heartfelt also have a wide selection of day wear, evening wear and accessories including vintage-inspired fascinators by Able Mabel. www.heartfeltvintage.co.uk

Just over the road from Heartfelt Vintage, is Milliner’s Guild. As well as their beautiful new handmade millinery, Milliner’s Guild also have a carefully curated selection of vintage items, and also offer a refurb and refresh service for your own vintage headwear. www.millinersguild.co.uk

To visit Clifton Hill Period Costume, get in touch to make an appointment and they are more than happy to welcome you to their unit. clifton-hill.co.uk

You can’t talk about vintage shopping in Bristol without mentioning Uncle Sam’s on Park Street. It’s an Aladdin’s cave of jeans, t-shirts and accessories. It’s very much in the old school of vintage shops, and is crammed full, making it all the more fun rifling through in search of treasure. twitter.com/unclesamsparkst

Urban Fox has a fab location, just near St Nicks Market. It often has a selection of items outside, making for perfect browsing opportunities while in the vicinity. urbanfox.me

Loot on the Bearpit roundabout, stocks a range of vintage label clothes such as Ralph Lauren, Levi’s and Adidas. gimmetheloot.co.uk

Recession has an eclectic mix of clothes and homewares and when I last visited, a beautiful selection of handmade lampshades. recessionshop.webs.com

I love browsing the furniture and collectibles in Dear Old Thing. There’s an ever changing selection of stock, as well as Special Offers. Perfect for spotting that up-cycling project!  www.dearoldthing.co.uk

If you’re looking for a great selection of vintage items, plus copper tones and marble, then look no further than That Thing in Stokes Croft. As well as their cool and quirky selection of new clothing and accessories, you’ll find a small but perfectly formed collection of vintage items at the back of their bright and inviting store. thatthing.co

Another great furniture shop is Bristol Reclamation. I particularly like their selection of printers’ trays and their upcycled tables. www.bristol-reclamation.co.uk

My next three picks are found at the Tobacco Factory Market on certain Sundays, or at their Retroville events. tobaccofactory.com/sunday-market

Bristol Saint Vintage sells, “Affordable Vintage, Reworked and One of a Kind Items”. I love the carefully curated collection and the items which have been ‘reworked’ to bring out their best bits. If you don’t manage to catch her at the market, she also sells online via an ASOS Marketplace shop.

Vaguely Vintage sells vintage clothing and homeware, and well as vintage-inspired new items. I particularly like the selection of mid-century style lighting. They show a small selection of their items on their website, but have a large selection that’s not on there, so it’s worth checking out their stalls.

Something Elsie sells handpicked vintage clothing, and I love their beautiful selection of print dresses, skirts and tops, as well as high quality coats and jumpers.
