The weekly meeting of minds occupies the beer garden of the revered Clifton boozer at 8pm every Wednesday, resulting in the award of prizes both monetary and alcoholic.

*Read in the style of the Masterchef voice-over*   Quizzing does not get tougher than this!

Every Wednesday evening at 8o’clock, The Lansdown plays host to a herculean battle of brains, an almighty cognitive tussle whereby knowledge is tested and memories scoured on subjects as diverse as current affairs, sport and, erm, sitcoms.

The victors on the night will walk away with a £35 bar tab to their name and the possibility of a whole host of goodies (alcoholic and otherwise) if their team beats the bar on the final round of the quiz- though be warned; the Wednesday night staff, on their day, can make the Eggheads look like a green room at The Jeremy Kyle Show.

Overseeing proceedings is the wily Sam, a charismatic and ruggedly-handsome quizmaster who rules with a firm yet reasoned hand. More importantly though, he (much like Mark Clattenburg) possesses the uncanny knack of being right even when clearly wrong.

Team sizes are limited to six persons, though canine companions are very welcome and will not be counted within this. Participation costs £1 per person and the quiz lasts roughly two hours.
