Spaces are still available for the charity abseil down Canonteign Falls in Dartmoor on 16th July, which is taking place in aid of Children’s Hospice South West. Here’s how to apply.

Children’s Hospice South West is on the lookout for a number of brave volunteers who are prepared to scale down the 220ft of tumbling water that makes up Dartmoor’s Canonteign Falls (below), England’s tallest waterfall.

The abseil is to take place on Sunday July 16th and is operated carefully under the supervision of mountaineering experts, with the inclusion of safety equipment and a wetsuit.

Vicky Nicholls from Bristol, who took part in last year’s abseil, said ‘It was an awesome event that I’m proud to say I took part in! It is so well organised and managed. We brought a fair few supporters with us and everyone had a fantastic day. I’d definitely do it again!’

Children’s Hospice South West, which supports children with life-limiting conditions and their families, is hoping to raise £10,000 from the event to support its local hospice, Charlton Farm.
