Do you think you have what it takes to take on the Crystal Maze? Or will it leave you crying for your Mumsie? Now all of the armchair warriors of yesteryear will have the chance to find out, with a whole new slew of players being invited to negotiate the four zones of which the labyrinth is comprised.

Crystal Maze Host Richard Ayoade

An updated version of the classic challenge show is to air on Channel 4 later this year and is to be filmed at Bristol’s very own Bottle Yard Studios! It will be hosted by celebrated oddball Richard Ayoade, who takes the place of the legendary Richard O’Brien, who acted as the genial guide to the maze between 1990 and 1993.

A new maze (featuring the four original zones: Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic) is being created by the original designer James Dillon, which will occupy over 30,000sqft of the studio, and is likely to stir both nostalgia in older viewers whilst inspiring a new generation of maze fans.

Producers of the new series are looking for teams of five to be put through their paces and rigorously challenged. You must be aged 18 years or over and a permanent legal resident and are currently living in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.
