Top 5 Places for Students to eat in Bristol

Top 5 Places for Students to eat in Bristol

Posted on: 19 Jan 2017

Bristol is very much a student-orientated city. Clubs, pubs, restaurants and everything in-between dominate how the city is laid out and, in turn, what students end up doing. As a student myself I know one key thing we love is to eat out, however my student loan doesn’t really cover eating out at a fine dining restaurants. Does that mean I’m going to compromise and eat bland food or cook for myself? Of course it doesn’t.

This is I, and a few of my fellow students, personal top five places in Bristol you can get a great bite of food and is very much friendly to us student folk. So put down that singular piece of celery and get on down to one of these great eateries to enjoy yourself whilst not breaking the bank.

Three Brothers Burgers

An amazing selection of burgers and drinks at Three Brothers Burgers

Three Brothers Burgers is a staple for good student food. Located near Kings Street on Bristol's flloating harbour, this burger and fries joint prides itself on mouth-watering burgers and an extensive range of craft beers and ciders. This is somewhere that any student is welcome as they offer a lunchtime deal of a classic burger and fries for only £5! As they say at Three Brothers – “Prove you do some studying and we will keep your parents happy by nourishing you with a classic burger and fries.”

The Lanes

Pizza and fun at The Lanes in Bristol

The Lanes at 22 Nelson Street encompasses everything that it is to be a student in Bristol. An amazing venue for relaxing and having fun with friends, it has five bowling lanes, a karaoke room and pool tables. With its different themed nights throughout the year it really is brilliant for all types of events and parties. However, for me personally, The Lanes is a spot you have to visit for their food. Their freshly made, Italian inspired pizzas, baked in a super hot oven, are simply incredible. Having sampled a few I’d recommend getting the 18” Pastrami and Rocket pizza to share with friends over a drink and a quick bowl.

Wildwood

Wildwood is an incredibly student friendly place with a great atmosphere

Having never been to Wildwood in Bristol, many of my friends have recommended this student hotspot for several reasons. One being their irresistible food, offering a range from their grill section, stone-baked pizza or their freshly prepared pastas you can’t go wrong. Another reason is their incredible 50% off all food for students offer. Grab your voucher for this at - wildwoodrestaurants.co.uk. Plenty of friends have also said that the service they have received here has been second to none. The staff are massively friendly and apparently Will Thomas is the man to talk to for great tableside banter!

Taka Taka

The late night offerings at Taka Taka are out of this world

A staple of triangle eating Taka Taka has to be a favourite of students all around the city! If you’ve had a heavy night at the top of Park Street there lies a deli and grill to offer you a safe haven for a bite to eat before you head home. The Greek deli offers up their Magic Roll section late at night. This British institution offers up healthy, delicious food at a really reasonable price and it is guaranteed to make your hangover that little bit more bearable.

Spitfire

A BBQ hotspot for all the meat lovers out there at Spitfire

Spitfire is an insanely good BBQ joint located beautifully on Bristol’s Harbour side. Meats grilled Caveman style direct on the hot coals, this is one place you need to go and get stuck into some top quality grub. Spitfire is the perfect place for students to head on over to, with a great selection of drinks and even better food, you and your friends will love coming here for dinner or lunch all the time. Their lunchtime offer of chicken wings with a side for £6.95 is something that really can’t be beaten!

These are just some of the top picks for where students can head on out for a bite to eat in Bristol. You really have to head down and try these places and thank me later. If you need any more info simply click the links and check out their Facebook pages.
