Foodbank Fundraiser at The Crofters Rights in Bristol on Tuesday 24 January 2017

The Crofters Rights in Bristol will be hosting a night to raise money for food bank charity the Trussell Trust on Tuesday 24 January 2017.

With most of us in the city having had an indulgent few weeks over the festive period, it's important to spare a thought and indeed do whatever you can for the more vulnerable people in society living in poverty or without a roof over their heads. In fact, rather worryingly, recent reports have suggested that, outside London, Bristol has the highest number of rough sleepers than anywhere else in the UK.

Time, then, to do help do something about it, and what better way than to raise money for the magnificent Trussell Trust which, in 2016, gave a whopping 1,109,309 emergency food supplies to people in crisis, including many in Bristol. (And if that figure doesn't highlight the significance and importance of their work and the severity of the situation then nothing will.)

Taking part in the night will be Alexander Nut, co-founder of Eglo Records, host on Rinse FM and NTS and a crowning highlight of the venue's first shows with Max Graef and Earl Jeffers. Joining him will be Banoffee Pies DJs who have been making their own very special musical ripples throughout Bristol over the past year.

Kicking off at 10pm and running through until 3am, tickets are £3 in advance, £5 on the door. 100% of the proceeds raised from the event will go straight to charity.

A link to book tickets will be advertised shortly, but in the meantime you can keep up to date with further details as they're announced on the event's official Facebook page.

The Crofters Rights is located at 117-119 Stokes Croft, Bristol, BS1 3RW.
