In this series of interviews, 365Bristol meet with people who love their food first and foremost. We're meeting real people who like real food. You can't judge fine dining against a burrito but there's no reason why you can't enjoy and comment on both; enlightening the city of Bristol as to which places we should visit.

This week we chat with Wayne England. Bristol born and bred, you can always find him chowing down at one of Bristol's best eateries. Thousands hang off his every word on various Facebook groups and base their restaurant choices around what he says, especially his Sunday roast recommendations!

Bristol's music scene has Big Jeff - if you're at the same gig as him then you know you picked the right one. Bristol's food scene has Wayne England - if you spot him and Kay dining across from you then you know you picked the right restaurant. Neither are 'critics' or 'reviewers', they care too much about music or food to do something so trivial as to write about it...they'd much prefer to just enjoy it!

Who are you? Are you from Bristol or if not why have you moved here?

I'm from Bristol. Born here and lived here all my life.

Where is the best place to go and have some food in Bristol?

It has to be The Lock Up in Redfield/St George. Brunch, dinner, Sunday lunch, the lot. It still hasn't been open a year and already it's many people's favourite spot.

You’ve got 24 hours in Bristol to show some visitors around. What are you going to do?

Would have to start with breakfast at Souk Kitchen to line the stomach. Then off to the Clifton suspension bridge to take in the wonderful views. SS Great Britain. Sunday roast at The Green Man with a lot of gin. Up to Cabot Tower to take in the view from up top. Off to Ashton Court/Leigh Woods to mountain bike the food off. In the evening off to a gig at one of our many great music venues and a few good beers. Job done.

If you were the Mayor of Bristol for a day what would you change or implement?

I would have to bring back Bristol community festival (Ashton Court Festival) as it was when it was a free fest before corporate sponsorship ruined it. Oh, and free parking for the entire city...and dedicated cycle lanes.

Best Burger - Atomic Burger

Best Sunday Roast - The Green Man

Best Steak - The Lock Up

Best Indian - I like a good takeaway...far too many to choose from!
