Pending Coffee initiative launches in Bristol

Posted on: 05 Dec 2016

The premise is simple but the outcome is beautiful. Next time you purchase a coffee in Bristol, pay for a second one and leave it ‘pending’ so someone who truly needs a hot drink at this time of year can claim it. This small gesture is worth far more to a person in need than just the beverage itself; knowing somebody made that simple token gesture to help a person they don’t know can go a very long way.

Launching on Sunday December 11th - to coincide with the big event held at The Bearpit - Keep Bristol Warm are the driving force behind this. Pending Coffee is yet another achievement on the long list of incredible events and ongoing projects that the amazing team of volunteers give up their time for. Keep Bristol Warm is not a charity, it is a community initiative. It is an active social movement to demonstrate solidarity and community spirit to the homeless people of Bristol.

A lot of people in Bristol already do so much for so many charities and even directly help the homeless in various ways. However, many simply don’t have the time, yet might be able to spare a couple of pounds. This is a chance to do a little extra and also ensure that you know exactly where your money is going: it’s making a real difference to real people. A simple notion but a powerful one nonetheless.
