Viva la Mexicana producing some of the best Mexican food in Bristol

Posted on: 07 Oct 2016

With Mexican food gaining popularity over the past few years in Bristol, it would be remiss of us to not mention everyone’s favourite, Viva la Mexicana. Creating mouth watering dishes and filling up the city with amazing flavours, it’s no wonder this is such a popular eatery for everyone!

Amazing food at Viva la Mexicana

Everything from tapas to Mexican street food appears on the menu with everything in-between. Their house speciality of Caluaco Al Tequila (Ribs in Tequila sauce, served with corn tortillas, guacamole, beans, and small shoots of edible cactus) is a renouned dish by all who eat here.

The food isn’t the only thing bringing plenty of customers through the door, it’s also the relaxed atmosphere, great deals and amazing events that Viva have on a regular bases. They do karoke nights, they have done a themed day for The Day of the Dead celebrations and even cater to large parties on Sundays when they are meant to be closed!

Viva la Mexicana cooking comprises thousands of recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation and which today is a great attraction for gastronomic tourism.

Viva La Mexicana is a Mex-Mex restaurant rather than Tex-Mex. We are a member of Sabores Autenticos de Mexico, an organisation whose membership is open only to restaurants that promote authentic Mexican cuisine.

Food in Mexico differs depending on the region – Tex Mex influences the north; it is different again in Puebla and surrounding areas, and different in Oaxaca and Yucatan. Even the same dish can be prepared in different ways depending on region. The dishes at Viva La Mexicana are mainly based on those from the Puebla region.

This really one of Bristol’s eatery hotspots, and needs to be experienced to be believed!
