Bristol Gig Club to throw nautical-themed fundraiser party

Posted on: 30 Sep 2016

The sea-themed fancy-dress party, ‘Dark and Stormy Night’, will take place on Saturday 22nd October at the Kings Weston House.

Venue, the Kings Weston House

Calling all salty, salty sea dogs! Hoist up the John B sails and clamber aboard at the Kings Weston for an evening of debauchery upon the high seas. The 22nd October will see pirates join arms with sea captains for a good old fashioned naval knees-up, in support of the Bristol Gig Club, so dig out the fancy dress lurking in your locker.

Having received a glass of prosecco on arrival, spend the evening as you choose: lighting up the floor at one of the scheduled dance classes, stocking up on rum and whiskey at the bar or filling yer boots with tacos and hog dogs.

What you can be sure of, though, is some of the finest music from the four corners of the seven seas: a string duo will kick things off with a spot of nimble fiddling, before The Longest Johns assume control proceedings to unleash their treasure trove of watertight sea shanties. Later on Lord Dubz will take the helm to steer the good vessel into the wee small hours.
