We understand rehoming isn't for everyone but why not see for yourself just how you can help give one of the furry or feathered residents a new home - we promise they'll repay you with love, affection and possibly a fluffy sofa. The RSPCA Bristol Clinic, the biggest branch veterinary clinic in the country, delivers over 16,000 treatments to sick and injured animals every year. Bristol Dogs & Cats Home provides care, shelter and a rehoming service for nearly 2,000 unwanted dogs, cats and small animals a year. So it's not just pups and cats that need your help - bunnies, rodents, birds, reptiles and more are all looking for a new family and a place to call home.

There is currently a database online where some of the animals can be viewed - click here -  and you can find out a little more about them. For example, whether they're good with children or whether they can live with other pets. Alternatively, visitors are welcome and the staff will be on hand to help with any questions regarding the adoption process or the animals themselves!

The Bristol and District RSPCA branch is a local charity, independent from the national charity, and provides services to the local community. It is a wonderful and truly vital service we should be rightly proud of in our city. It takes upwards of £1.7million per year to keep the Bristol Cats & Dogs home open and caring for all the pups and other guys that need a little extra help from us humans. All this comes from donations. An astounding amount of money but one that is raised each and every year thanks to the incredible work put in by the staff and numerous volunteers. They aim to rehome all their ‘tenants’ and care greatly for them in the meantime.

For further information on the adoption process, this adoption procedure guide will help explain further. If you can't adopt then there are still many ways you can help - donations are obviously always welcome, though these don't necessarily need to only be in the form of monetary donations: you can find out more about all the great ways you can help and support the great work right here.
