The event is part of the fundraising appeal ‘a Life for a Cure’, set up by Michelle and John Bresnahan and their daughter Charlotte, after the sudden loss of their teenage son Ryan to Meningitis B in 2010. Over the last six years ‘a Life for a Cure’ has raised over £400,000, supporting research that has the best possible chance of advancing the ultimate vaccine.

The exercise session, led by a team of Bristol-based person trainers, will involve a fun warm up followed by sessions in Nordic Walking, Boot Camp style exercises, hula-hooping and boxing.

The event will feature in a new television series, ‘Be Fit Bristol Fit’ − showcasing sport at all levels and celebrating Bristol’s role as the European Capital of Sport in 2017.

Ryan Bresnahan, a keen young sportsman, died in 2010 of the devastating disease, Meningitis B, aged 16. Meningitis B mainly affects babies, pre-school children and young people and tragically claimed Ryan’s life in less than 2 hours.

The fundraising appeal ‘a Life for a Cure’ was set up in Ryan’s name to help prevent other families suffering from the loss the Bresnahan family experienced.

‘A Life for a Cure’ supports Meningitis Now, a national charity working towards a future where no one in the UK loses their life to meningitis and everyone affected gets the support they need to rebuild their lives.

The event will be held at Coombe Dingle Sports Complex, Coombe Lane, Bristol, BS9 2BJ  For further information on ‘a Life for a Cure’ go to http://www.ryanbresnahan.org.  You can also connect with the guys through Facebook.
