E. Nesbit's classic story The Railway Children will get a very unique and spectacular performance at Avon Valley Railway on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th August 2016.

Chapterhouse Theatre's open air production will see the much-loved story - which sees three children move to Yorkshire with their mother to discover the reason for their father's disappearance - told with all its charm and poignancy but with one magnificent addition - that of one of the fabulous resident steam engines.

This production will represent a landmark in Chapterhouse's tour of the show in that it's their only one which will take place at a real railway station with the train forming such an important, physical part of the show.

Final details of production specifics are still being finalised but the hope is that the cast will arrive at Bitton by train before the production begins, with the train making appearances several times throughout the evening.

Certainly a one-off, thrilling live performance of one of literature's most endeared and timeless stories, doors open at 6pm for a 7pm start. Tickets are £22 for adults, £16 for children, or £70 for a family of two adults, two children, and can be purchased here.
