Bookbarn International Children's Day on Wednesday 24 August 2016
Posted on: 22 Aug 2016The region's avid young readers can explore a day of literary-based fun when Bookbarn in Bristol celebrates International Children's Day on Wednesday 24 August 2016.
Among the activities the little bookworms can enjoy will be colouring in, a poetry competition, how tall do you measure next to your favourite book characters?, and a kids' quiz. The Bookbarn's Full Stop Cafe will also have a variety of food offers and meal deals on the day including one free children's menu meal for anybody under 12 years old and 50% off meals for anyone up to 16 when you spend over £10.
Families will also be treated to free storytime sessions in the children's area at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, and everyone under 16 will walk away with a free book too.
In an age when children seem to increasingly be turning to their iPads and Smartphones and eschewing traditional books, this is unarguably a brilliantly refreshing event and even better reason to encourage kids to engage and participate in books and literature.
