To celebrate the Bristol based Alma Taverns 20th year they want to upgrade the facilities, launch their own brand of theatre and do more within the community. They need the fine people of Bristol to dig deep and help them reach their goal and with only two days to go we all need to hurry!

Help Bristol’s Alma Tavern Theatre Reach their Goal of Redevelopment

The Alma Theatre has been running as a professional receiving house for 19 years.  For the most part it was run by a separate company who developed a fantastic reputation for new writers with their yearly Theatre West season.

DONATE VIA KICKSTARTER HERE.

Three years ago the Alma brought the bookings in-house for the first time with the help of House Manager, Holly, and it has continued to be a hub of local and national talent within Bristol.

Now, with your help they hope to develop the space into what we have always dreamed it could be - a central space where everyone not only receives top productions but strive to nurture home-grown theatre-makers and produce theatre that is of the highest quality; offering career enhancing roles to local actors as well as to create a youth project that allows young actors to see some of the vital steps between a school pantomime and the West End.

They have already appointed their new resident Director Anna Friend and so their theatre making team is complete. Anna and Holly have a whole heap of fantastic ideas to bring even more vibrancy and community into the theatre and they need your help to start this journey!

The first production will be Jim Cartwright's critically acclaimed 'Two', this is a great piece of writing to launch our home company Schoolhouse Theatre, appropriately set in a popular bar!

With your funding they will be able to start planning for an upgraded facility which will benefit all our incoming companies as well as making the theatre a more flexible space that can welcome activities of many sorts from children's workshops, ambitious studio performances to Sunday storytelling and community group use.

The process of applying for long term funding to keep this project going and make the Alma awesome has already started, but in order to kickstart this process they need the people of Bristol.

Please take a look at the rewards and see how you can help out. The only risk for this project is that if we don't reach our funding goal, we cannot start the intended renovation of the space.
