Youngsters in the city will get the chance to become Bristol's own Indiana Jones when the Church of St John the Baptist holds an historical themed crafts day on Thursday 28 July 2016.

Medieval Secrets Family day will take place at the crypt and church - also known as St John's on the Wall - and children will be able to undertake the role of medieval detective to unveil its mysterious secrets at the atmospheric building, the only existing place in Bristol that is built into the old city's medieval walls.

There will be a brilliant range of intriguing hands-on family activities including crafts and medieval dressing up, and you'll be able to follow clues to uncover secret codes hidden around the church which will reveal secrets of the past to illuminate your understanding of the present.

You might not have a fedora and bullwhip but you will have loads of historically-themed, immersive and interactive family fun in this hidden church built into the old city wall.

The event runs from 11am to 3pm and admission is free, though donations are welcome. For more information you can call 0117 9291766, visit the webpage - www.visitchurches.org.uk/Whatson or email lsherriff@thecct.org.uk
