Keep Bristol Warm unveil new Community Board at The Bearpit

Posted on: 18 Jul 2016

Keep Bristol Warm's new Community Board has been placed at The Bearpit. It offers both the homeless and those who would like to help with the information on how they would be able to. It's the perfect tool to inform Bristol's streetsleepers and those who would like to help.

The board informs the street-sleepers of Bristol on where specific things are happening that will not only help them get through the day, but build their way back up to where they want to be. It is also a signpost for those who aren't homeless but would like to help in some way, however big or small. It is the brainchild of a man named Gavyn Emery and we at 365Bristol.com are beyond happy to help him and KBW in any way we can - both as a brand and with our staff individually. Gavyn is a living embodiment of the ethos of Batman - a man with no superhuman skills yet he can still make a mammoth difference to the city he lives in - just switch Gotham for Bristol. The only difference is that he doesn't wear a cape and he doesn't have the unlimited resources of Bruce Wayne. That's where us Bristol residents need to step in.

Keep Bristol Warm isn't a charity; they work on love and compassion. Don't be mistaken, it's a COMPLETELY not-for-profit organisation and costs those involved's time, money and a lot more - not that they would ever tell you that. They accept donations big or small and feed it out directly on to the streets and to the amazing charities in this city. They donated more than 50 full boxes of clothing to the Julian Trust. KBW have also supported One25, Care In Bristol and Spring Of Hope. Through receiving donations and pushing them out they are trying to raise the awareness in this city. KBW want to challenge the perception that homeless people are any different from the rest of us. Homelessness begins when something bad happens and you don’t have family or friends around to help. It could happen to any of us.

Keep Bristol Warm is a community initiative. They will never ask for monetary donations; simply donations of your time or items that will help those in need. It is an active movement to demonstrate solidarity and community spirit to the homeless people of Bristol

Keep Bristol warm- a community initiative providing solidarity and relief donations to Bristol's street sleepers and night shelters. Keep up to date with their amazing work via Facebook and Twitter and by using and checking the hashtag #KBW.

He wants to concentrate his writing and media skills in Bristol's culinary culture, delving into what fine feasts the city has to offer and where the best places to go for food really are. Along with an aspiration to interview some of the influential people shaping Bristol and some who are simply passing through, Matt really is trying to make Bristol his new home!
