Landlady and Head Chef to run Tough Mudder for Bristol Underprivileged Children's Charity

Posted on: 15 Jul 2016

The Landlady and Head Chef of The Gloucester Old Spot (Amy & Tom) will be completing Tough Mudder on 20th August 2016 in aid of The Bristol Underprivileged Children's Charity.

This is a 10-12 mile mud and obstacle course designed to drag you out of your comfort zone by testing your physical strength, stamina, and mental grit. Tough Mudder events are hardcore obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test competitors' all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. With the most innovative courses and over 1,000,000 competitors worldwide, Tough Mudder is the premier adventure challenge series in the world.

The Bristol Underprivileged Children’s Charity has no share capital and no paid officials so every last penny raised by the charity and its supporters is spent helping Bristol children who reside within a twenty-five mile radius of the city centre. Funds are raised through donations, functions and subscriptions and are then applied to grants, items, services or facilities that help to reduce the need, hardship or distress of these children.

This Bristol-based charity was created in the 1970's and their aim is to raise as much money as possible to put back into and enrich the lives of children in a less fortunate position than ourselves. This wonderful charity has helped schools and sent children on holiday thanks to their close ties with places such as Barton Camp and Children’s Hospice South West.

This is a great cause and one 365Bristol.com are happy to help The Gloucester Old Spot's Amy and Tom with. If you would also like to help then please visit their Just Giving page where you can find out more and donate whatever you can - even the smallest amount would be greatly appreciated and will go a long way to helping this wonderful local charity.
