Enjoy a cream tea aboard The Matthew as it sails around Bristol's beautiful harbour

Posted on: 22 Jun 2016

This Friday 24 June 2016 Bristolians will get the unique chance to enjoy a cream tea and simultaneously sail around the city's beautiful harbour on the legendary ship The Matthew.

What could typify and be more quintessentially English than a delicious cream tea, and what could be more thrilling than enjoying the delicious scone/clotted cream/jam/fresh brew combo on one of the most important and iconic ships ever to set sail on the high seas.

Recreated between 1994 and 1996 to mark the vessel's 500th anniversary year of John Cabot's 1497 voyage from Bristol to Newfoundland, The Matthew is incontrovertibly one of Bristol and the world's most impressive and legendary ships.

The Matthew will set sail at 2.30pm and the trip will last for approximately 1hr 30mins. Tickets cost £25 for adult, £20 concessions and £10 for children up to 5 (does not include food).

For tickets, head to www.matthew.co.uk. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
