Bristol Battle of the Paddle - Summer 2016

Posted on: 07 Jun 2016

Battle of the Paddle is a table tennis tournament for Bristol businesses. Beginning on 29 June 2016, this great social competition is open for registration now! It’s a fun way to get out of the office and throws up some good networking opportunities before the prizes are handed out when it’s all said and done.

Bristol Battle of the Paddle

After previous successes, Battle of the Paddle returns again, pitting Bristol-based businesses against one another in a fight for bragging rights, great prizes...and just a good way to network and have a bit of fun. Playing in teams of two, companies can enter as many teams as they like. Registration is £20 per team and all the money goes towards the prizes, along with some minor running costs. It’s pretty simple: the more teams that enter, the better the prizes will be!

Teams are placed in pools with others and matchups are allocated by the organisers. Once you know your opponent you are free to schedule your game at a time and place that fits both. Many choose to play in a lunch break to get out of the office! Battle of the Paddle sponsor an outdoor table in Bristol Harbourside. They also sponsor bats and balls, which you can collect these from the YHA reception (just opposite the table). If it's a bit windy there are two tables outside Tesco/Pizza Express near the Hargreaves Lansdown office that are more sheltered. If it's raining or you'd just prefer to play indoors, there are tables located at Vivo Sports & Gym Club on Welsh Back.

Bristol Battle of the Paddle Finals

Games are played on a first to 11 or 21 basis (you decide) and are best-of-3. Once the game is over, just submit the scores and let the organisers do the rest. If you do lose a few games then it’s not over - you still get to play the same number of games as every other team and there’s always the chance to claw your way back up the ranking to earn a spot in the final knockout tournament.

Two game days are scheduled each month across a number of Bristol venues and the tournament season runs for 3 months.

Registration is simple – just visit www.battleofthepaddlebristol.com and sign in using the Facebook link. You can also keep up to date and find out more info at their Facebook and Twitter pages.

The tournament is proudly sponsored by Blackstar Solutions and PeopleGoal
