The late May 2016 bank holiday weekend offers so much to do Bristol that we’re spoilt for choice. To give you a helping hand, 365Bristol have compiled a list of some of the very best can’t-miss events being held in our fair city as we finally reach May and find ourselves ever closer to summer.

This is of course very Sold Out! Your best option is to check out the social media feeds for the event and have cash money ready at a moments notice for anyone offering up spares. House Magicians at Smoke and Mirrors - Friday 27 May - 8 Denmark Street, Bristol, BS1 5DQ

 

The House Magicians Comedy Magic Show at Smoke and Mirrors, The UK's Only Boutique Magic Theatre Pub every Friday and Saturday night in Bristol.

 

Summer Beerfest at The Volunteer Tavern - Thursday 26 - Monday 30 - 9 New Street, St Judes, Bristol, BS2 9DX

 

Join in on the festivities at the Camra pub of the year 2016 and save the dates for the follow up beer festival at the sister pub Hope and Anchor that commences on the 2nd of June. Plenty of beer, good food, good vibes and live music to be expected!!

 

Skin at The Thunderbolt - Friday 27 May - 124 Bath Road, Bristol, BS4 3ED

 

Bristol band Skin bring their brand of grunge to Bristol’s iconic Thunderbolt on 27 May 2016 and there’s an awesome bill of support acts too. It really can’t fail to be a great night.

 

Head to Beese's Bar and Tea Gardens on a River cruise with Number Seven Boats - Saturday 12pm and 2pm (outbound) - leaving from the Cascade Steps next to The Fountains in the city centre.

 

Situated beside a deeply-running river Avon below a steep wooded bank, Beese’s is a haven of tranquillity where generations of city dwellers have put the cares of the city behind them. An idyllic setting for an afternoon tea, a few drinks, a light bite or a full meal. Spend an hour cruising up the river, two hours at Beese’s and then another hour back down to the centre again. Yes, you read that correctly...gin and cheese! You’ll get a choice of some of the finest gins around accompanied by a cheese board with a selection of local cheeses all served with crunchy pickles, chutney, Severn Project salad, seasonal fruits, fresh bread and crackers to share.

Explore the amazing city of Briswool in all its woolly splendour! Briswool is a huge, intricately knitted and crocheted model of Bristol featuring all your favourite hangouts. Spot well-known landmarks in knitted form including the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol Zoo and the M Shed cranes, as well as the infamous Bristol crocodile, a Banksy mural and Wallace & Gromit! The exhibition includes space to do your own knitting. Coordinated by the Paper Village.

Dot to Dot Festival - Various locations across the city

 

A huge number of bands and artists playing at venues across the city. It's the perfect way to spend a Sunday in a festival atmosphere while knowing you get to sleep in your own bed at night and still don't have to work the next day!

 

Family Fun Day at The Crown Inn - 63 Bristol Road, Keynsham, Bristol, BS31 2WA

 

The Crown Inn is a fantastic pub situated just 10 minutes outside of Bristol in Keynsham. A free Family Fun Day will take place on Saturday 28 May 2016 from 12noon til late and features activities and entertainment for all ages.
