This weekend sees the return of Bristol's famous Harbour Festival - It is the city's largest free festival which is attended by thousands of locals and visitors to the city each year. This years festival will take place from Friday July 18th - Sunday 20th July. 

 

The Festival has something for everyone, from a mix of live music and dance to circus displays, childrens tent and activities and also street theatre performance all of which help the city to attract up to 250,000 guests over the weekend.

 

All of the events take place around the city's harbourside - a two mile site which includes area's on College Green and Queen Square.

 

Bristol has always had strong maritime links and the festival helps to promote this with a number of tall ships and working boats present at the festival including The Irene and The Kaskelot.

 

There are 9 different areas for visitors to explore across the city. Queen Square will play host to the main music stage with a range of genres being performed by a mix of both local and national acts and bands. Music will also be hosted by stages at Cascade Steps and venues at the Grain Barge, SS Great Britain, Louisiana and Thekla.

 

The Dance Village will be situated in Millennium Square while this years Childrens area will move from castle park over to College Green, which for the weekend will be transformed into a Space Mountain Playground.

 

At 10pm on Saturday it is expected that there will be a great number of people present to witness the amazing firework display, fired from Wapping Wharf behind the M Shed.
