A great taste of the East from a friendly family owned restaurant I would definitely recommended it to any lovers of curry. Remember it's BYO !
I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a meal at the Spice Bazaar Indian Restaurant which is located at 48 Bristol Hill in Brislington, Bristol.
Upon arrival I was greeted by one of the owners Ali who was both polite and courteous. The décor is simplistic and the place is very clean and tidy. My partner and I were given a choice of where we would like to sit and handed the menus. The menu was comprehensive to say the least offering everything you would expect along with a small selection of English meals although it has always puzzled me why you would go to such a restaurant if you wanted an English meal?!? Anyway I digress.
We decided on a few poppadums and pickles to start which when bought out were well presented and of a generous size with a good selection of pickles and sauces. The main course followed and the timings between servings was spot on. Not waiting around and not rushed. I had chosen the Garlic Chilli Chicken Mossala and my partner a Lamb Mossala. We complimented this with Pilau Rice, Bombay Aloo and a Large Keema Naan Bread. I have to say the quality of the meal was excellent. Both main dishes contained lean and succulent meat pieces in a well flavoured sauce. The Chilli Chicken was both tasty and spicy without being mind blowingly hot and my partner agreed that the Lamb dish also had a great flavour. The potatoes in the aloo were cooked to perfection - firm enough to hold their shape. My only criticism would be the Naan Bread. I’m not quite sure what it was but it did have a slightly unusual taste which unfortunately was not to my liking.
The other thing you need to remember should you visit is that Spice Bazaar is a Bring Your Own restaurant so don’t forget your wine!!!
