Puzzlair 4D Escape Game in Bristol

Just across the road from Gardiner Haskins, deep in the heart of Bristol lies Puzzlair - a fresh new 4D game where you and your team of friends, family or work colleagues have to solve the mystery whilst actually being part of the game yourselves. Puzzlair is open to all ages, whilst the adults will scratch their heads and become quickly frustrated trying to piece together the clues, the children will have a great amount of fun turning furniture over, searching nooks and crannies for anything that resembles a clue that may, or may not, help.

Originating as an idea in Hungary, and now with over 60 different escape games in Budapest alone, the idea has spread to many other cities throughout Europe and across the world. Bristol now has its own in the form of Puzzlair. Never out of the top three attractions on TripAdvisor, this cleverly designed game will leave you talking about it for hours, even days after. One you’ll certainly find yourself recommending your friends check out. The staff at Puzzlair are extremely friendly and professional and help make this a wonderful and fun filled experience.

Our team tried out one of two games currently available at Puzzlair. Situated in the lower part of the building and representing a laboratory setting, this game is all about a Romanian biologist named Dr Lev Pasted. The room is furnished with old style furniture and quirky objects, photographs and other information dot the walls.

Without giving too much away, our team was locked in the game for an hour and escape is only possible after all the clues have been solved. However, getting out in time is not guaranteed.

During the game you are provided with helpful hints and tips just to keep you on track but the hour will disappear very quickly so keep your eyes on the clock. Time is certainly the cruelest foe. It’s all about working smartly as a team and thinking outside the box.

The game is made up of two separate rooms, both of which you need to collect and crack clues from in order to get out alive. Watching the countdown clock tick away, your adrenaline quickly rises and your brain goes into overdrive. With just 9 seconds remaining, we managed to free ourselves, so it is possible! We will certainly be back to try the second game in the John Monroe Room.

Do you have what it takes…?

5/5
