It was a cracking, spirited wild night brimming with raucous energy, sparky audience interaction, foul language aplenty, and showcasing two copybook cover bands paying top notch tributes to two of America's premier purveyors of punk.

Two of America's most iconic and seminal punk groups - The Offspring and Green Day - were given first-class cover treatment by tribute bands The Offspin and Green Haze at The Fleece in Bristol on Saturday 6th February 2016.

To a near-capacity crowd fired up on a heady cornucopia of adrenaline, hard liquor and a predilection for punk, The Offspin burst on to the stage to entertain the music-hungry masses. The Offspring were formed in 1984 and have sold over 40 million albums worldwide, and their album Smash holds the record for being the biggest selling indie record of all time, selling over 10 million albums, and is widely hailed by many as one of the best punk albums ever released.

The thrashing maelstrom of revellers threw themselves into the set with deliciously gleeful, often anarchic abandon, immersing themselves in The Offspin's faultless covers of hits such as Original Prankster, Come Out And Play, The Kids Aren't Alright and, arguably their most famous song of all, Pretty Fly For a White Guy.

Headliner Green Haze equally whipped the wild Saturday night funsters in to an uncontrollable frenzy, replicating the Green Day sound to such a tee that you'd have been hard pressed to differentiate between the originals and the covers. All of the band's usual suspect punk hits were nailed with impeccable, high octane, relentless accuracy, covering old and new songs including American Idiot, Basket Case, Welcome to Paradise, Wake Me Up When September Ends, and 21st Century Breakdown.
