Chali 2na and The Funk Hunters review at The Fleece in Bristol

This occasion was a celebration of life as we know it and the sublime journey I was about to undertake was beyond expectation... If they ever return to our shores I implore you to not miss these psychedelic twins.

 

Oh Sh**!!!!...... Not to splurge on the first sentence, but that pro-fain jitter  could serve as a reference to the complexity and dynamic delivery of excellence that I witnessed at The Fleece last night. To be frank I didn't stop saying that till I got home.....Once again thanks to 365Bristol.com; I got to see The Funk Hunters and Chali 2na. The latter you may recognise from a little group called Jurassic 5.

Now many a performer have decided to go their own way and pursue their own remedy in terms interpreting music in their own way. I am certainly an advocate for that as I feel that its a crying shame to put shackles on an artist. That itself is a discussion for another time.

This occasion was a celebration of life as we know it and the sublime journey I was about to undertake was beyond expectation. having been to a Jurassic 5 concert before I had my own preconceptions of what the night had in store, but this was surpassed by the high octane performance from Chali 2na effortlessly supported by The Funk Hunters, a dynamic duo who complemented each other stupendously without impeding the vibe. They were stars on this occasion blending the old with the new. As explained to us at numerous moments on the night

Well not verbatim but Chali 2na was supposed to take a back seat this time and The Funk Hunters did not disappoint.The mix astutely accompanied by a dazzling array of videos enhanced what was already an eclectic taste of dub-step, drum 'n bass and trip hop.. the lot!! Which left you feeling so funkdafied it was incredible. If they ever return to our shores I implore you to not miss these psychedelic twins. And I hope its soon!!

Great news announced as well on the night Jurassic 5 are back this summer!!! I will surely not miss it.
