A story where a woman having Alzheimers is living with a robot companion, this is a heart touch deep revelation of love, but the unique thing is that it has a robot as a full cast member. The movie was screened at Edinburgh Fringe previous year and it received appraisal from the audiences and the movie was also nominated for the Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award.

The story is set up in 1970s, Sally likes Debbie Harry, for Raymond his love is making robots; they are not so likely. After a span of 50 years, Sally is living with Alzheimers and a marriage with ups and downs. On the other hand Raymond made a robot before he died and stored his memories in that robot so that Sally can have a companion. It is a love letter from inside the grave; an infinite patient memory-jogger and a partner who sings. It gives instruction to her bewilderedness and becomes such a partner of her that she can have romance with. But when the clouds of romance fades out, will this robot be a companion with comfort or will this be her death? Spillkin is a movie which will make you happy, sad and will make you think this big question of technology, love and death.

 

After this show will will have a Question & Answer session where the audience will get a chance to meet the company, as well as the chance to meet the robot and find more information about him.

To know this masterpiece, Pipeline Theatres has collaborated with the Engineered Arts, which is a leading robotic company based in Cornwall. Managing Director Jackson says “I’ve spent a decade designing a piano – now I want someone to write the music”

 

Artist Director and designer of Pipeline Alan Munden in his past had a personal experience of Alzheimer, he says “Making work about what you know or desire to better understand, I think lends it integrity. My mother has Alzheimer’s. I am frightened when I try to imagine her experience, but intrigued and excited to manifest it on stage, and wish I had the patience of a robot.”

Pipeline Theatre which is in Cornwall, and makes text written drama with high level design. “Spillikin (which is a love story). It is the company’s third show. Their past production includes “ Transports” & “Streaming” both toured in the country having four and five stars review all over the country, and the recent production “Swivelhead” will be screened at Edinburgh this year.
