Bristol band September Song make their live debut in July
The group, built around a pair of Bristol musical stalwarts John Douglass and Steve Hogg, will play a debut gig at The Cube Cinema on the 6th July.
Though autumnal in name, September Song are launching their latest project at the height of summer. On the 6th July, the Bristol-based band will make their live debut at The Cube Cinema as they premiere the new album The Arrogance of Time with a full airing.
Speaking about the album, its co-creator John Douglass said: “If you have ever wondered what the inside of my head sounds like then this album is for you! Lyrically the album is in some ways a musical reflection of Shakespeare’s seven stages of man and reflects the big life events that most of us encounter at some stage in our lives; births, deaths and all the stuff that happens in between.”
With a twin core of Douglass and partner in crime Steve Hogg (who have had a hand in local bands like Kid Sinister, Augustine and Wushcatte), the fifteen-piece cohort of September Song have a fine working knowledge of Bristol’s musical landscape, and will draw from a wealth of experience to realise the album in a magical manner.
Among this number are Pete Judge and Paul Wigens, who themselves make up Eyebrow, the duo who will be lending their atmospherically haunting sound to the evening’s support slot.
