Geordie lass and self-confessed cake pigeon Sarah Millican continues to be a household name of British comedy. Having been named as The People’s Choice: Queen of Comedy at the British Comedy Awards in 2011, her debut stand-up DVD became the all time best seller from a female comedian.
She started in comedy after attending a workshop for writers who hadn’t performed before. After finding success at the Edinburgh Fringe, she broke into mainstream comedy with frequent appearances on shows like QI, 8 out of 10 Cats and Live at The Apollo. She has repeatedly sold out tours around the world.
Millican was nominated for BAFTA Awards in 2013 and 2014 BAFTA for her work on The Sarah Millican Television Programme. In February 2013 she was listed as one of the 100 most powerful women in the United Kingdom by Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour.
