Michael McIntyre is one of the best loved and most successful British comics of recent times. Having dropped out of university to pursue a career in script writing, his big comedy break came at the Royal Variety Performance in 2006. Several spots on BBC 1’s Live at the Apollo led to McIntyre fronting his own series, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, securing his status as a household name. The awards weren’t far behind either, and he won Best Live Stand-up at the British Comedy Awards in 2009 and Best Male TV Comic in 2010.
Michael’s stratospheric rise to popularity has resulted in plenty of record breaking. His debut DVD, Live and Laughing, was the fastest selling of all time and his second, Hello Wembley, sold over 1.4 million copies. In 2011 Michael brought his down to earth charm to ITV1’s Britain’s Got Talent, garnering him even more fans across the country. In 2012, Michael’s largest tour to date – Showtime – included 71 arena shows, playing to over 700,000 people, and a record breaking 10 nights at the O2 Arena in London. More recently Michael has gone international, playing arenas across the globe, in every continent.
