The nation’s favourite choirmaster returns for a unique performance of choral gems. Following the phenomenal success of BAFTA award-winning The Choir, described by The Times as “one of the most enthralling, informative and uplifting reality series yet made”, Gareth Malone has continued to inspire budding singers across the country. In his latest spectacular tour, Malone will be joined by top guest choirs and singers as he takes you on a journey of discovery and showcases the music that inspires him.
Gareth Malone was obsessed with music from a young age, having grown up playing piano and singing. Later he auditioned for the Royal Academy of Music, and passed his postgraduate course with distinction in 2005.
Malone is best known for BBC 2’s BAFTA-winning television series ‘The Choir’, which over the course of several seasons has followed Malone as he coached vocal novices, from students at an all-boys school to workers at Bristol’s own Royal Mail depot. His series with the Military Wives Choir was a particularly huge success, and resulted in him topping the album and single charts with the group. In 2012 he was awarded an OBE in recognition of his services to music.
