Colston Hall’s Nifty 150 Birthday Bash at The Colston Hall in Bristol on Thursday 17 August 2017

Colston Hall turns 150 in 2017, so on the final day of Hoo-Ha! festival, we’re throwing a ginormous shindig for all the family – and everyone’s invited to boogie with us!

Children’s TV presenter and friend of the festival Andy Day will be appearing, DJ Cheeba will be spinning the wheels of steel, plus there’s more special guests yet to be announced. Expect disco lights, party games and fun galore engineered by festival favourites the Squeaky hill collective.

So come dressed in your best party gear, and don your dancing shoes one and all: it’s time to get down and party!

Part of Hoo-Ha! Children’s Festival

Colston Hall’s incredible Hoo-Ha! festival for children is back this August for the third year. For three days Colston Hall comes alive with music, mirth and rip-roaring fun for all the family. With interactive shows, awesome activities and tons of surprises in store around each corner, everyone’s invited to the Hoo-Ha party.

 

Andy Day

Andy Day is a presenter and actor. In 2009 he was nominated for a Children’s BAFTA award for Best Presenter. Aside from his television work, Andy especially enjoys the Christmas period as it means pantomime time! He has played The Genie in Aladdin at the Kenneth Moor Theatre, an ugly sister in Cinderella at The Octagon in Yeovil and Bedworth, Dandini in Cinderella at The Alban Arena and Captain Crabstick in Dick Whittingon at the Sheffield Lyceum. In 2015 he lit up the stage at Bristol Hippodrome as Muddles in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

When not presenting, Andy also stars in his own fantastic family show, Andy’s Dino Raps, which is full of interactive fun and catchy raps about everyone’s favourite dinosaurs.

 

DJ Cheeba

DJ Cheeba is hailed as one of the most progressive audio visual artists around today and has found an audience world wide with his unique style of turntablism and video manipulation.

Cheeba has produced a variety of celebrated projects including video mixes, movie re-scores, adverts, documentaries and commissioned projects for eveyone from Led Zeppelin to Aardman as well as the eclectic mixtapes that he’s best know for and have topped have iTunes download charts. In 2016 Cheeba is touring several different audio visual projects ranging from the cinema style ‘After School Special’ and ‘Plan 9 From Outer Space’ to the dancefloor club and festival shows like ‘Return To The Boom Bap’ and ‘Double Vision’.

Known for his cut and paste style of turntablism, audiences can expect a high paced trip through styles made to make you dance, think and smile. More than just a DJ, Cheeba is a audio visual artist known for the broadest beats and blowing minds.
