Caro Emerald at Colston Hall in Bristol on 9 April 2017

Caro Emerald will be there at Colston Hall in Bristol on Sunday 9 April 2017

Caro Emerald was born in Amsterdam in April 1981 as Caroline Esmeralda van der Leeuw. After starting singing aged 12, she went on to graduate from Amsterdam Conservatory in 2005, where she trained as a jazz vocalist. The Dutch singer’s debut album stayed at the top of the chart in the Netherlands for 30 weeks – beating the Dutch record set by Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’.

Her follow-up album ‘The Shocking Miss Emerald’ infused her vintage jazz with modern hip hop, giving it an edge and helping it land on the number 1 spot in the UK. This jazz, swing and pop songstress has definitely proved that she’s a force to be reckoned with.
