A genuine hidden gem in Bristol's city centre.
The Phoenix in Bristol is an excellent pub set in a prime location – right next to Cabot Circus. It boasts proper home-cooked food and a good selection of quality, locally produced ales as well as imported lager.
This great pub is tucked away in a quiet corner of the city, away from the hustle and bustle of Cabot Circus, though only seconds walk from it.
Having been reinvented and markedly updated, it really lives up to its name. The atmosphere and the drinks are excellent. The beer garden provides an oasis for world-weary shoppers and ale-aficionados alike, and there are always some great guest ales on tap.

The food is the real surprise here - something you certainly wouldn’t expect initially. There are a number of absolutely excellent burgers to choose from, coming in all guises, but the star of the show is the noodles. The expertly devised menu is best described as Malaysian-fusion. Billed as ‘Proper Malaysian Hawker Noodles’ they are a triumph.
There are still a number of other dishes to chose from, and a regularly updated specials board means every trip will be different.
Their great location is obvious but, what you might not know, is that you can get some great food AND a drink for just £5 on Friday and Saturday lunchtimes. There's nowhere else in the city where you could expect this sort of value. Just to sweeten the deal, kids can eat for just £3!
The Phoenix welcomes children and pets along and is family-friendly. There's also the opportunity for FREE venue hire for your own private event or get-together. Whether it's a birthday, works do, Christmas party or anything else, all are welcome. Meeting and conference day hire is also available at very attractive rates.
